Instructions
- 1Peel and slice the mango into thin strips.
- 2Combine sugar, water, lemon juice, and salt in a saucepan.
- 3Heat the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 4Add the mango slices to the saucepan and stir gently to coat them in the syrup.
- 5Simmer the mango in the syrup for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mango cool in the syrup for 15 minutes.
- 7Transfer the mango slices to a wire rack to drain excess syrup.
- 8Allow the mango to air dry for several hours until it becomes sticky but not wet.
- 9Store the candied mango in an airtight container at room temperature.

Instructions
- 1Wash the oranges thoroughly to remove any wax or pesticides.
- 2Cut the oranges into quarters and remove the flesh, leaving the peel intact.
- 3Slice the orange peels into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide.
- 4In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 2 cups of sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 5Add the orange peel strips to the sugar syrup and bring to a simmer.
- 6Reduce the heat to low and let the peels simmer for about 45 minutes, or until they become translucent.
- 7Remove the peels from the syrup and place them on a wire rack to cool for about 30 minutes.
- 8While the peels are still sticky, roll them in the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar to coat.
- 9Place the coated peels back on the wire rack to dry for another 1-2 hours.
- 10Store the candied orange peels in an airtight container.
