Soak 2 kg chana dal in water for 15 minutes.
Drain the soaked chana dal and place it in a pressure cooker with 4 cups of water.
Cook until the dal is soft, ensuring there's no excess water left, about 15 minutes.
Mash the cooked chana dal until smooth, ensuring no chunks remain.
In a pan, dry roast the mashed chana dal for 15-20 minutes until it becomes dry and aromatic.
Gradually add 0.5 cup of ghee to the roasted dal, stirring continuously for 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup of sugar gradually, stirring to dissolve completely.
Pour in 0.5 cup of milk gradually while stirring continuously.
Add your choice of dry fruits (almonds, pistachios, walnuts) and mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased tray and press it down firmly while hot to shape it.
Let it cool completely before cutting into desired shapes.
