Introduce the recipe for Kransekake, a traditional Scandinavian dessert.
Gather 3.5 cups of almonds, 4 egg whites, and 4 cups of powdered sugar.
Grind the almonds if not using pre-ground almond flour, preferably using ground almonds for better consistency.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until combined.
Let the mixture rest for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight for best results.
Prepare the baking sheets by greasing them and coating with flour to prevent sticking.
Preheat the oven to 210°C (410°F).
Shape the dough into sausages slightly thicker than a thumb, making them one ring larger than the next for stacking.
Place the shaped rings on the baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, adjusting time for desired crispiness.
Remove from the oven; they will seem soft but will harden as they cool. Do not touch them immediately after baking.
Once cooled, stack the rings into a pyramid shape.
Optionally decorate with Norwegian flags, frosting, or jam.
