2 chopped onion
2 tbsp curd
2 nos. chotti elaichi (cardamom pods)
2 nos. dalchini (cinnamon stick)
3 nos. laung (cloves)
1 tsp chopped ginger
1 tsp chopped garlic
salt to taste
red chili powder to taste
1 tsp dhania powder (coriander powder)
1 tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)
1 tbsp ghee for cooking
1 tbsp ghee for garnishing
200 gms chopped and steamed kathal (jackfruit)
50 gms steamed kabuli chana (chickpeas)
0.5 tsp garam masala powder
1 tbsp refined oil
1 tsp kewra water
1 tsp rose water
1 cup milk mixed with saffron
1 lemon
2 tsp edible food colour

Heat oil in a karhai/pan and add ghee.

Fry chopped onion till brown and set aside.

In the same oil, add whole garam masala.

Add chopped ginger and garlic.

Add steamed kathal and steamed kabuli chana.

Add lightly cooked vegetables (optional).

Add jeera powder, dhania powder, and red chili powder, and sauté.

Add salt and curd.

Add half tsp garam masala powder and saffron mixed milk, and cook until done.

Add the cooked rice and mix well.

Add kewra water and rose water.

Add half of the fried chopped onions and edible food colour.

Add half tsp garam masala powder and squeeze lemon over the biryani. Mix well.

Garnish with coriander leaves and fried onions. Serve hot with salad and raita.
