Starbucks Egg Bites originated as a convenient, protein-rich breakfast option, appealing to health-conscious consumers. They reflect a growing trend towards quick, nutritious meals that fit busy lifestyles. Today, variations abound, with many home cooks recreating them with different fillings and flavors to suit personal tastes.
Crack 6 eggs into a bowl.
Add 12 ounces of full fat cottage cheese, 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast, and 1 teaspoon of sea salt to the bowl.
Mix everything together until well combined.
Grease the insides of 4-ounce jars with butter.
Add about 1 tablespoon of mix-ins (bacon and Gruyere) to each jar.
Sprinkle some cheese on top of the mix-ins in each jar.
Scoop in the egg mixture until it reaches about half a cup, or up to the first thread of the jar.
Screw on the tops of the jars finger tight.
Preheat the sous vide machine to 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the jars into the sous vide water bath using tongs to avoid burns.
Cook for 1 hour in the sous vide bath.
After cooking, carefully remove the jars with tongs and place them on a towel to cool.
To serve, you can eat them straight out of the jar or use a spatula to coax them out after unscrewing the tops.
