Mediterranean Flatbread Pizza
Cultural Context
Originating from the Mediterranean region, flatbread pizza combines the simplicity of flatbreads with vibrant toppings. Traditionally enjoyed as a communal dish, it celebrates fresh ingredients and local flavors. Today, variations are popular worldwide, allowing for endless creativity in toppings and styles.
Preheat the oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
Brush flatbread with olive oil on both sides.
Spread minced garlic evenly over the flatbread.
Slice cherry tomatoes in half and scatter them over the flatbread.
Thinly slice red onion and distribute it over the toppings.
Crumble feta cheese and sprinkle it on top.
Add kalamata olives and fresh spinach evenly across the flatbread.
Season with oregano, black pepper, and salt to taste.
Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing.
Serve warm and enjoy!
