Mix warm water and yeast in a bowl; let sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
Combine flour, sugar, nutmeg, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
Mix until a dough forms; knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan; cover and let rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
