1 cup black gram split
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1/2 cup sun dried pumpkin seeds
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1 tablespoon garlic, minced

Soak the black gram split in water for about 4-5 hours or overnight.

Drain the soaked black gram and grind it to a smooth paste, adding a little water if necessary.

In a pan, heat mustard oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add the ground black gram paste to the pan and stir well, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Add turmeric powder, salt, and slit green chilies to the black gram mixture, stirring to combine.

In a separate bowl, grind the poppy seeds with a little water to make a smooth paste.

Add the poppy seed paste to the black gram mixture and mix well, cooking for another 5 minutes.
