Heat 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and partially cover; let simmer for 4.5 to 5 hours, stirring occasionally.

Cook pasta of choice in salted boiling water; drain and return to pot.

Add fresh basil to the sauce and season with salt; stir well.
