Chickpeas provide plant-based protein and are often less expensive.

Cut the ends off each banana and place them in a pot.

Add water to the pot and boil the bananas with the skin for about 30 minutes.

In a bowl, add canned tuna.

Add chopped red onion, chopped parsley, and freshly squeezed garlic to the bowl with the tuna.

Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the bowl.

Add black pepper and salt, then mix until well combined.

Once the bananas are cooked, peel off the skin while they are still hot and let them cool off more.

Cut the bananas into small cubes, slicing down the middle one way and then the other way.

Add the tuna sauce to the bananas little by little, mixing until well combined.

Serve the green banana salad cold.
