Preheat the oven to 500°F.
Clean the eye of round by removing fat and silver skin.
Prepare a rub with 1/4 cup kosher salt, 1 tablespoon ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon granulated garlic, 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, 1 tablespoon cumin, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
Use mustard as a binder on the eye of round.
Apply the rub generously on the eye of round.
Place the eye of round on a baking sheet with a rack.
Bake at 500°F for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F until the internal temperature reaches between 123°F and 125°F.
Let the roast cool completely and refrigerate overnight.
Prepare slider buns by spreading butter in a pan and kneading the dough for a couple of minutes.
