Dates Halwa is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, especially popular in Saudi Arabia, where dates are a staple food. This sweet treat is often prepared during festive occasions and Ramadan, symbolizing hospitality and generosity. In modern times, it has gained popularity beyond the region, with variations appearing in various cuisines worldwide, celebrating the rich flavors of dates.

Take a bowl and add 500 grams of dates.
Remove the seeds from the dates and add them to the bowl.
Pour hot water over the dates to soften them and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
In a pan, add 1/2 cup of wheat flour and roast it until it turns brown.
Strain the roasted flour and set it aside in a bowl.
After 30 minutes, blend the soaked dates with some water to make a paste.
Strain the date paste to remove any lumps.
Heat the mixture until it starts boiling and remove the foam that forms on top.
Add a little saffron for color and cardamom powder for flavor.
Add 1 tablespoon of rose water and 2 tablespoons of butter to the mixture.
Cover and cook until the water reduces slightly.
Once reduced, add the roasted flour gradually while mixing continuously over low flame.
Cook until the mixture thickens, then turn off the heat and transfer it to a plate.
Garnish with chopped dates and saffron on top.
