Gather the ingredients: 1 cup of water, 1 cup of masa de maíz (or corn flour), 1 can of evaporated milk, 1 piece of piloncillo, 1 stick of cinnamon, and 4 pieces of cloves.

Heat a pot and add 1 liter of water, the piloncillo, cloves, cinnamon, and a piece of chocolate.

Allow the mixture to boil until the chocolate and piloncillo dissolve.

Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.

In a cup of water, dissolve the masa well, ensuring there are no lumps. You can also use 1 cup of corn flour instead.

Pour the dissolved masa into the pot. Use half a cup of water to rinse out any remaining masa stuck to the cup.

Stir the mixture well and let it come to a boil for a bit.

Add the evaporated milk (or you can use 1 cup of whole milk).
