Toast 1 cup of maseca in a pot over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 1 minute until it turns a nice yellow color.

Add 2 liters of water to the pot.

Add 2 sticks of cinnamon and 5 cloves to the water.

Add 16 ounces of piloncillo to the pot, adjusting sweetness to taste.

Remove the plastic from the piloncillo and wash it before adding it to the pot.

Add 2 tablets of chocolate (Abuelita) to the pot and stir until dissolved.

Mix the toasted maseca with 1 liter of water to dissolve and avoid lumps.

Remove the cloves from the mixture after they have infused their flavor.

Add 2 liters of milk to the pot, adjusting the amount for desired thickness.

Add 1 can of evaporated milk and stir to combine.

Add the dissolved maseca mixture to the pot and stir well to prevent clumping.

Use a frothing tool to create foam on top of the champurrado, stirring constantly to avoid sticking.
