1

In a bowl, add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp of corn flour, 1 tbsp of milk powder, and 1 tbsp of brown sugar.

2

Add a pinch of saffron and grind it.

3

Add instant yeast (or dry active yeast activated with sugar and warm water).

4

Add 1/4 tsp of salt and 1 tbsp of flavorless light cooking oil, then mix.

5

Gradually add warm water (about 250 ml) and whisk to achieve a batter that is neither too thick nor too runny.

6

Cover the batter with cling film and let it ferment for at least 1 hour in a warm place.

7

To make date syrup, in a saucepan, add 200 g of washed dates and 5 ml of water, cover, and cook on medium heat until soft.

8

Strain the mixture to get the syrup and boil it until it thickens to the desired consistency.

9

Heat oil in a wok on medium heat for frying.

10

Use a spoon dipped in an oil-water mixture to scoop out the batter, or use hands to squeeze out small portions.

11

Drop the batter into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the wok.

12

Fry until the dumplings are golden and float on the surface, moving them for even coloring.

13

Remove the dumplings and let them drain on a kitchen towel.

14

Glaze the dumplings with date syrup and sprinkle with white sesame seeds (optional).
