  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 cup kale, stems removed
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1Wash the spinach and kale thoroughly under cold water.
  2. 2In a blender, combine the spinach, kale, banana, apple, coconut water, and lemon juice.
  3. 3Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. 4If desired, add ice cubes and blend again until the ice is crushed and the smoothie is chilled.
  5. 5Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more banana or a splash of honey (optional).
  6. 6Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
