Soak 2 cups basmati rice in water and rinse until clean.

Marinate the whole fish with cuts made into it.

Add 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste, 1 piece fresh lemon juice, salt to taste, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon paprika powder, 1 teaspoon seven spice, and 2 tablespoons oil to the fish and mix well.

In a pot, heat 1 cup oil and add sliced onions, cooking until browned.
