Heat a pan on low to medium heat and pour in cold-pressed coconut oil.
Add regular granulated sugar that has been processed to smoothen the granules.
Cook until the sugar melts, which takes about seven minutes.
Add coconut milk to the melted sugar to create a caramel.
Add lime juice, vanilla extract, and salt to balance the sweetness.
Cook until the moisture evaporates and the caramel thickens.
Add non-sweetened coconut flakes and cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes on low heat until caramelized.
Pour the mixture onto a nonstick surface and let it cool enough to handle.
Once cooled, form the mixture into desired shapes.
