Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
In another bowl, combine milk and vanilla extract, then add melted butter that has cooled to room temperature.
Add the egg yolks to the milk mixture.
Make a hole in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients, mixing from the center to prevent lumps.
Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form, either by hand or using an electric hand mixer.
Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the batter using a spatula to maintain airiness.
Preheat the waffle iron and grease it with oil, ensuring to cover all crevices.
Scoop batter into the preheated waffle iron, starting with one ice cream scoop and adjusting as needed for coverage.
Cook the waffles for 4 to 5 minutes without opening the waffle iron halfway to prevent sticking.
