3 carrots
2 onions
1 garlic bulb
1/2 cup raisins
3 bay leaves
1 TSP cardamom
1 tbsp turmeric
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp garam masala
1 TSP paprika
1 TSP cinnamon
5 cups boiling water
2 1/2 cups basmati rice

Fry the onions in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Add the meat and cook until browned.

Stir in the carrots and cook for a few minutes.

Add the garlic (if using) and spices (cardamom, turmeric, garam masala, paprika, cinnamon) and mix well.

Add the raisins and bay leaves.

Pour in the boiling water and bring to a simmer.

Add the basmati rice, cover, and cook until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
