Love & Best Dishes: Dirty Rice Recipe with Ground Beef

Start by bringing 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.

Once boiling, stir in 1 cup of long grain brown rice.

Let the rice come back to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cook until almost all the water is absorbed, approximately 20-25 minutes.

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Crumble and cook 1/2 pound of ground beef until browned, adding salt and black pepper to taste.

Chop 1/2 pound of chicken livers using scissors, then add them to the skillet with the ground beef.

Cook the chicken livers for 2-3 minutes until done.

Drain the cooked meats on paper towels.

In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter and the chopped green bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, celery, and 1 clove of garlic.

Cook the vegetables for about 5-6 minutes until tender.

Add the cooked ground beef and chicken livers back to the skillet along with the cooked rice, stirring to combine.

Plate or bowl the dirty rice and sprinkle with dried parsley for garnish.
