Cut the coconut into four pieces to scrape the flesh.
Use a traditional grater or a Ninja blender to grate the coconut flesh.
Spread the grated coconut on a baking sheet and cover it.
Let the grated coconut dry in the sun for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, check the dried coconut, which should have changed color to a slightly yellow hue.
In a pan, heat 1/2 cup of granulated sugar over low heat to make caramel, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Once the caramel is ready, mix in the dried coconut until well coated.
Pour the coconut mixture onto a wooden cutting board and let it cool down.
Once cooled, form the mixture into small balls, ensuring they are firm.
