Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon

1 wood plank
1 bunch green onions
2 pounds Wild Alaska sockeye salmon
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger root
2 teaspoons fresh squeezed lime juice
1.5 teaspoons fresh minced garlic

Soak the wood plank in water for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Pat the wood plank with paper towels and lightly coat one side with oil.

Place one bunch of trimmed and sliced green onions on the plank.

Place a 2-pound fillet of Wild Alaska sockeye salmon on top, skin side down.

In a medium bowl, add 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, 2 teaspoons of freshly grated ginger root, 2 teaspoons of fresh squeezed lime juice, and 1.5 teaspoons of fresh minced garlic, and mix well.

Pour the glaze over the top side of the salmon.

Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before cooking.

Heat a gas grill to medium-high heat or build an indirect charcoal fire.

Place the planked salmon over indirect heat, not directly over the flames.

Cover and leave the salmon for 10 to 15 minutes until opaque throughout.

Present the entire plank to the table.
