Thinly slice 6 Golden Delicious apples and toss them in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to prevent browning.

Prepare the pie crust: Roll out the larger piece for the bottom and the smaller piece for the top, ensuring the larger one overhangs the pie plate.

Spray a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick cooking spray and fit the bottom crust into it without stretching.

In a bowl, combine the sliced apples with 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of orange zest, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, and 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour. Mix well using hands to coat the apples.

Fill the prepared pie crust with the apple mixture, ensuring even distribution.

Roll out the second pie crust for the top and place it over the filled pie.
