These sweet, fluffy doughnuts are a staple at festive occasions, symbolizing joy and community. Today, variations exist globally, with many cultures adopting and adapting the recipe to suit local tastes.
all-purpose flour

Mix flour, sugar, nutmeg, salt, and active dry yeast in a bowl.
Create a well in the middle of the mixture and add melted butter and evaporated milk.
Knead the mixture in the bowl for about 2 minutes, then transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into smaller pieces of around 60 to 70 grams each.
Roll each piece into a ball shape, then roll it into a sausage form about 20 to 25 centimeters long.
Twist the rolled dough and pinch the edges together, placing it on a floured baking tray.
Let the twisted dough rise until doubled in size.
Preheat oil for frying on medium-low heat.
Fry the dough until golden brown on both sides, flipping as necessary, then drain the oil.
