1

Soak the saltfish overnight to remove excess salt.

2

Drain the saltfish and add about 3 cups of fresh water.

3

Boil the saltfish for 5 to 7 minutes, then drain the water.

4

Add fresh water again and boil the saltfish for another 7 minutes to reduce saltiness.

5

Press the green bananas and prepare the dough for boiled dumplings.

6

Peel the bananas and slice them in half, then boil them with the skin on.

7

Make the dough for the dumplings using 3 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and about 1 cup of water, mixing until a dough forms.

8

Shape the dough into dumplings and boil them for about 10 to 12 minutes on medium heat.

9

After boiling, take the saltfish off the heat and let it cool before breaking it into small pieces.

10

Sauté the chopped onion, bell peppers, minced garlic, and thyme in a skillet for about 2 minutes.

11

Add the flaked saltfish to the skillet and mix well.

12

Gently fold in the ackee, being careful not to stir too much to avoid breaking it apart.

13

Add 1 teaspoon of all-purpose seasoning, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper to the mixture.

14

Cook the ackee and saltfish for about 3 minutes until heated through.
