Today, this bread has gained popularity worldwide, often made with various flours and flavors to suit different tastes.

Combine 4 cups of flour and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine 2 cups of lukewarm water (90 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit) and 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of yeast, stirring until foamy.
Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture.
Mix by hand until a sticky dough forms.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise for 1.5 to 2 hours until doubled in size.
Flour hands and shape the dough into a loaf.
Coat a bowl with olive oil and flour, then place the dough in the bowl and cover it to rise for another hour.
Preheat the oven to 450°F with the Dutch oven inside for 30 minutes.
Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
