Wash and cut the sweet potatoes.

Peel the sweet potatoes.

Add 3 cups of water to a pot and boil the sweet potatoes until cooked.

Drain the water from the sweet potatoes.

Mash the sweet potatoes using a fork.

Add a pinch of salt to the mashed sweet potatoes and stir to combine.

Add 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour to the mixture and stir together.

Oil your hands and shape the sweet potato mixture into rings, making a hole in the center.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the dough rings until golden brown, turning to cook both sides.

Remove the fried rings from the oil and drain on paper towels.

In a separate pot, add 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 tbsp of water, stir and bring to a boil.

Add the fried sweet potato donuts to the boiling sugar mixture.
