Its simplicity and delightful texture make it a beloved treat among locals and visitors alike, with variations found in other Latin American countries as well.

Start by boiling 1 cup of water in a smaller pot over medium heat.
Add 2 cinnamon sticks and 5 to 7 cloves to the boiling water and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and allow the tea to cool while preparing the mix.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 can of evaporated milk, 1 can of coconut milk, and 1 can of cream of coconut.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the mixture.
Sift 1/2 cup of white rice flour into the mixture to avoid lumps, mixing until smooth.
Use the strainer to incorporate the tea into the mixture, ensuring no solid pieces pass through.
Transfer the mixture to the stove and set the heat to low, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
Cook and mix until the mixture thickens, which should take about 15-20 minutes, stirring more quickly as it thickens.
Once the mixture is thick and leaves marks behind when stirred, remove it from the heat.
Pour the mixture into molds or cups using a ladle.
Refrigerate for 3 hours to chill before serving.
For the second dessert, prepare a tea using 2 cinnamon sticks, 5 cloves, and slices of ginger root in an Instant Pot.
Seal the Instant Pot and pressure cook for 3 minutes to extract flavors from the spices.
Release the pressure and remove the spices from the pot.
Add 1 can of coconut milk, 1 can of cream of coconut, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of coconut flakes to the pot.
Mix in 1 cup of short grain rice and stir well.
