Traditionally enjoyed with sour cream, jam, or fresh fruit, they reflect the country's agricultural heritage and resourcefulness. Today, syrnyky have gained popularity beyond Ukraine, often found in Eastern European cafes worldwide, showcasing their delightful balance of crispiness and softness.

Add 400 g of farmer's cheese to a bowl.
Toss in 1 egg, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
Add 3 tablespoons of flour and mix everything with a fork until combined.
Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat.
Shape the mixture into small patties, about 50 g each, rolling them in flour to prevent sticking.
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan.
Cook for about 3 minutes until the bottom is slightly set, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on low heat until golden brown all over.
Remove from the pan and place on a plate lined with paper towel to soak up extra oil.
Let cool slightly before serving.
