Make a seasoning mixture with 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon Lowry's seasoned salt, 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon granulated onion powder in a bowl and mix well.
Use 1 pound of thinly sliced beef chuck shoulder roast, pound it thinner for tenderness, and slice it in half to create smaller pieces.
Season both sides of the beef pieces with the seasoning mixture and place them in a glass dish to marinate briefly.
Crush 1 1/2 sleeves of unsalted topped crackers into crumbs and place in a bowl for breading.
In another bowl, mix 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour with 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and 1/4 teaspoon Lowry's seasoned salt.
In a separate bowl, beat 1 large egg and add 1/4 cup of water to create an egg wash.
Set up an assembly line with the seasoned flour, egg wash, and crushed crackers.
Dredge each seasoned beef piece in the flour, dip it in the egg wash, and then coat it with the crushed crackers, pressing firmly to adhere. Place on a baking sheet.
Let the coated beef cutlets sit on the counter to set and take the chill off.
Heat a large skillet with about 1/2 inch of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Fry the beef cutlets for about 1 minute on each side or until golden brown and crunchy.
Serve the milanesa with a simple salad and Mexican rice.
