Chicken Pasande is a traditional Indian dish known for its rich and creamy texture, often served at special occasions and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 medium onions, finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, marinate the chicken slices with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. 2Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. 3Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. 4Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until the chicken is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. 5Stir in the coriander powder and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. 6Add cream to the pan and mix well. Let it simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.
  7. 7Sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix well.
  8. 8Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  9. 9Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
  10. 10Serve hot with naan or rice.
