Combine 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1/4 cup of basil pesto, and 1 pressed garlic clove in a small bowl.

Using a fork, mesh the mixture until you have a nice smooth consistency.

Place 4 salmon fillets (about 7 ounces each) onto a baking sheet.

Season each salmon fillet with salt and pepper.

Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice over the salmon fillets.

Using a cookie scoop, scoop out mounds of the pesto butter mixture and place two scoops onto each salmon fillet.

Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 to 12 minutes.
