Beef and Guinness Pie Filling

¼ cup corn-starch
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
1kg (2.2 lb) chuck steak
2 onions sliced
1 Tbsp. garlic crushed
1 carrot diced
400ml (13.5 fl oz) Guinness
1 cup beef stock
2 bay leaves
2 Sheets puff pastry
1 egg, beaten

Add the chuck steak, sliced onions, crushed garlic, diced carrot, Guinness, beef stock, salt, pepper, and bay leaves to the slow cooker.

Stir the ingredients to combine them well.

Cover and cook on low for several hours until the beef is tender.

If the filling is too runny, mix cornstarch with water and add to the filling to thicken it.

Prepare the pie case with puff pastry and fill it with the beef and Guinness filling before baking.
