1 teaspoon kosher salt

Take warm water in a large bowl.

Add sugar to the warm water to help activate the yeast.

Add instant dry yeast and stir lightly.

Let the mixture sit in a warm place for around 10 to 12 minutes until the yeast is activated and foamy on top.
