Homemade pesto can be made with less expensive ingredients.

Spread pesto on both sides of a slice of bread.

Using a glass or a round cookie cutter, cut out the center of the bread.

Place about 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan and let it melt. (You may need more later.)

Once the butter has melted and the pan is warm, place the pesto-covered, holed bread into the pan.

Cook one side for a half moment, then flip it over. Crack one egg into the hole.

Cook until the egg reaches your desired doneness, then sprinkle with mozzarella pieces and finish with a little Italian seasoning.
