Today, it has gained popularity beyond the island, inspiring variations in other Latin American cuisines.

Peel the sweet plantains and slice them.
Fry the sweet plantain slices until golden on both sides, or alternatively, air fry or bake them.
Remove the fried plantains to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
In a pot, add 1 pound of ground beef and cook until all the pink is gone.
Season the ground beef with salt, black pepper, all-purpose seasoning, saon, and oregano.
Add diced onion, diced tomatoes, green onions, bell peppers, and a bit of hot pepper to the beef and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add your favorite sauce (pasta sauce, marinara, or ketchup) to the beef mixture and taste to adjust flavors.
Cover the pot and allow the mixture to cook for about 10 minutes.
In a bowl, break 1 egg and add a bit of milk to create a binder for the lasagna.
To assemble, add a thin layer of meat sauce to the bottom of the baking dish to prevent sticking.
Add a layer of sweet plantains, followed by another layer of meat sauce, then a layer of cheese of your choice, and a bit of the egg binder.
Repeat the layering process until the baking dish is full.
For the topping, add a generous amount of cheese and sprinkle with parsley.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden.
Allow the lasagna to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
