Today, lokma is a popular street food in Turkey and has gained popularity in various parts of the world, often found at fairs and festivals.

Add 1 cup of water to the mixing bowl.
Add 1 tablespoon of dry yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar to the water.
Add 1.5 cups of flour to the mixture.
Mix the ingredients and let the machine work for about 5 minutes.
Add a pinch of salt after the mixing starts.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise for 30 minutes.
Prepare the syrup by mixing 1 cup of sugar with 2 cups of water and heating it until dissolved.
Add lemon juice to the syrup and let it rest.
After 30 minutes, check the dough which should be puffy and slightly sticky.
Grease hands lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
Take small pieces of dough and drop them into hot oil for frying.
Fry until golden brown and then dip in syrup before serving.
