1/2 cup toor dal
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups manathakkali keerai
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sambar powder
1/2 cup coconut paste
1 teaspoon mustard
1/4 cup urad dal
1 teaspoon fennel
2 dried chilies
3 cups water

Take equal amount of moong dal and toor dal.

Add turmeric powder and asafoetida to dal & cook it.

Transfer cooked dal into a pan & add required water.

Add onion, tomato, garlic and manathakkali keerai.

Cook for few min. When manathakkali keerai is half cooked add salt and sambar powder.

Allow it to boil for few minutes.

For tempering add mustard, urad dal, fennel and dried chilly.

Allow it to thicken then add three spoons of coconut paste, mix it & switch off the stove.
