2 cups water
2 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion
2 green chilies
1/4 cup coriander leaves
1 tablespoon ginger
10 curry leaves
1 teaspoon mustard seeds

Soak black rice and urad dal in water for at least 6 hours or overnight.
