Bring cream cheese to room temperature or heat in the microwave for a few seconds to soften.
In a medium bowl, combine 8 ounces of cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of white granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Blend together using a spatula or electric hand mixer until smooth.
Set the cream cheese mixture aside.
Open the crescent roll dough tubes and keep them in tube shape. Cut each tube halfway to create 8 pieces from each package, totaling 16 pieces.
Place the cut pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet, giving them room to flatten.
Using fingers or the bottom edge of a measuring cup, create a shallow circle in the center of each piece without cutting through.
Brush 4 tablespoons of melted butter onto each round of dough.
Using two spoons, place the cream cheese mixture onto each round on top of the butter, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top of the cream cheese mixture on each danish.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the danishes for 16 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
While the danishes are baking, prepare the icing by whisking together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth, adjusting with more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
Once the danishes are done baking, let them cool slightly before drizzling the icing on top.
