Combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder in a bowl.
Gradually add lukewarm water while mixing to form a sticky dough.
Knead the dough minimally to avoid toughness, adding extra flour as needed to manage stickiness.
Divide the dough into portions and roll each portion into a ball.
Oil the dough using hands or a brush, tucking it in and adding more oil in the center.
Let the oiled dough sit for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the oil to soak in.
Sprinkle flour on the surface and roll out the dough to about a quarter of an inch in thickness.
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and oil the pan using a tissue.
Place the rolled dough in the pan, oil the top surface, and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until it starts to swell.
Flip the roti, oil the other side, and cook until browned, adjusting the heat as necessary.
