1 tbsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar
2 Cups of All Purpose Flour
Pinch of Salt
2 tbsp Cornstarch / Cornflour
2 tbsp Milk Powder
2 tbsp Oil
2 Cups Water (for syrup)
2 Cups Sugar (for syrup)
1 tsp Lemon Juice (for syrup)
1 tbsp Vanilla Essence (for syrup)
¼ Cup or 4 tbsp Honey (for syrup)

In a bowl, combine 1½ cup of water, 1 tbsp of yeast, and 1 tbsp of sugar. Let it sit until frothy.

In another bowl, mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp of cornstarch, and 2 tbsp of milk powder.

Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Let it rest until doubled in size.

In a pot, combine 2 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar, 1 tsp of lemon juice, 1 tbsp of vanilla essence, and ¼ cup of honey. Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened to make the syrup.

Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Once hot, drop spoonfuls of the dough into the oil and fry until golden brown.

Remove the fried dumplings and dip them in the sugar syrup before serving.
