Heat olive oil in a large skillet until hot.
Chop an onion and add it to the skillet; sauté until softened.
Add 3 pounds of ground beef to the skillet; season with salt, black pepper, bay leaves, and dried basil.
Cook the ground beef until browned, then drain excess fat.
Let the ground beef cool down.
In a bowl, mix 6 eggs with ricotta cheese, salt, black pepper, parmesan cheese, and parsley.
Add mozzarella cheese to the mixture and combine well.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, adding a little oil to prevent sticking.
Cook Barilla lasagna noodles halfway, stirring to prevent sticking, then drain.
Spread some tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
Layer the cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce, overlapping them slightly.
Add a layer of the ground beef mixture over the noodles.
Spread some of the ricotta mixture over the beef layer.
Repeat layering with noodles, beef, and ricotta mixture until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of noodles and sauce on top.
Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top of the final layer.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 400°F for about 1 hour and 45 minutes, checking after 1 hour.
Remove from the oven and let sit for 15 minutes before slicing.
