350g (1 1/2 cups) of butter
300g (1 1/2 cups) of sugar
6 eggs
Vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
180ml (3/4 cup) of milk
370g (3 cups) of all-purpose flour
16g (1 tbsp) of baking powder
60ml (1/4 cup) of water
70g (1/4 cup) of sugar
Powdered sugar for decoration

In a bowl add the butter and sugar and mix with the electric mixer until sugar and butter dissolve.

Add the eggs one by one and continue to mix.

Add the vanilla essence, salt, milk, flour, and baking powder and mix to combine.

Pour the mixture into the cake mold (25cm - mold size) and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 180°C/360°F for 50 minutes.

In a saucepan add the water and sugar and let it melt the sugar.

Add the vanilla essence and mix to combine.

Remove from the heat and let it cool.

Turn the cake upside down after baking on a serving plate.

Pour the prepared syrup into the cake.

Decorate the cake with powdered sugar, cut a slice and serve.
