Wash the fish thoroughly at least 3 to 4 times with plain water.

Place the fish in a bowl and add enough water to fully submerge the pieces, along with 1 teaspoon of salt.

Let the fish soak in the brine for 15 minutes, then drain the water completely and pat the fish dry with a kitchen towel.

Make the marinade by mixing 1/2 tablespoon of garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon black salt, a pinch of regular salt, 1/2 teaspoon carum seeds, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
