This soft, slightly sweet bread is typically enjoyed with stews or as part of festive celebrations. In modern times, variations of Himbash can be found in Eritrean communities worldwide, reflecting the diaspora's connection to their heritage.

Flaxseed meal acts as a binder while being egg-free.
Introduce the two types of bread: sweet bread and brown bread.
Measure 1 kg of wholemeal flour for the brown bread.
Measure 600 ml of warm room temperature water.
Add 14 g of yeast (2 packets of 7 g each) to the water to activate it.
Add 5 ml of black seed to the mixture.
Add 1.5 ml of salt to the mixture.
Add 0.5 cup of extra virgin olive oil to each bowl (sweet and brown bread).
Add 1 tbsp of ground flaxseed to the sweet bread mixture.
Add 3 tbsp of brown sugar to the sweet bread mixture.
Add 2 tbsp of dried fruit to the sweet bread mixture.
Mix the ingredients in each bowl until combined, ensuring the dough is not too hard or too soft.
Let the dough rise for 50-55 minutes until it doubles in size.
After rising, apply a little oil to your hands to prevent sticking while shaping the dough.
