Bring salmon fillets to room temperature to prevent sticking while frying.
Drizzle olive oil on both sides of the salmon and brush it on.
Season both sides of the salmon with salt and black pepper, seasoning from up high for even distribution.
If seasoning in advance, pat the salmon dry with a paper towel to ensure a crispy crust.
Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat for about two minutes.
For skinless salmon, cook for about three to five minutes; for skin-on salmon, cook for five to seven minutes, starting skin side down.
Flip the salmon after the initial cooking time and cook for an additional three to four minutes.
Prepare basil butter by melting butter with basil, garlic, onion powder, and lemon juice, then spoon it over the salmon while it finishes cooking for about 30 seconds.
Serve the salmon with roasted root vegetables and drizzle with extra basil dressing.
