2 cups kale, chopped

1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 cup water or stock
1 cup rice or quinoa

Prepare the butternut squash by cutting it into one-inch pieces, using about half of an average squash.

Prep the kale by removing the tough ribbing, either by cutting or ripping it off, then chop the kale into small pieces.
