Soak salt mackerel overnight in cold water.

Boil the salt mackerel a couple of times and debone it.

Sauté chopped onion and tomato until softened.

Add the boiled and deboned mackerel to the sautéed mixture and cook down for about 5 minutes.

Add Excelsa crackers to the mixture and let them steam down to soften.

Serve the cook-up salt mackerel with the softened crackers.
